What is Equipment Improvement Information (CSMDC)? “DC” in “CSMDC” is short for “Defect Countermeasure” and is defined as a countermeasure for issues occurring in DISCO products. Three ranks are set according to the level of importance: CDC (Critical Defect Countermeasure), SDC (Serious Defect Countermeasure), and MDC (Minor Defect Countermeasure) in order from most to least important. If the cause of an issue is in the design or manufacturing process and the issue may affect equipment safety, safe operation, or the customer’s production, DISCO repairs the applicable products free of charge.
